Manu Rainforest 3Days / 2Nights

Come to Manu, which is a few hours from the city of Cusco, to see wildlife such as: monkeys, Caimans, macaws, colorful birds.  and enjoy its warm climate of raint forest and enjoy the boat ride along the Madre de Dios River.

Tour Itinerary

DAY 1RST: CUSCO – AMAZON PONA LODGE.

Manu rain forest tour,  is a tour that starts fron Cusco early in the morning in our private car adapted for the route with mountains and jungle, in the course of the trip we will pass many places of tourist attraction such as:

Ninamarca funeral towers which is a pre-Inca construction of the Lupaca Kindong, then we will be passing through the valley of Paucartambo and a small town of paucartambo known as the folkloric capital of Peru.

then we will arrive at the Ajanaco pass which is the beginning of the Manu National, Park from this point we will descend to the Amazon rainforest going through a beautiful cloud forest in the world.

In this area we will make short stops and hikes to see exotic birds of the cloud forest especially the Peruvian National bird  the Andean Cock-of-the-rocks, toucans, tanagers ,  Wooly Monkeys and Brown Capuchin Monkeys and coaties, with good luck we can see  Sloths, bears and a lot variety of flowers and orchids.  arriving at sunset to Our Lodge. 2ND DAY.- AMAZON PONA LODGE – ECOMANU LODGE

After breakfast at the lodge, we continue our trip in our car to Lake Machuwasi, during the trip we will take short walks to see monkeys, macaws, toucans, etc. Then  we make stops to visit coca plantations and the Atalaya viewpoint.

Arriving at Machuwasi we entered the lake to explore on  balsa rafts in search of animals such as: the Capybara (the largest rodent in the world), Caimans, monkeys, water birds that live in Amazonian lakes such as: the prehistoric bird Hoatzin, Horned screamer , gallinules, toucans, tanagers, woodpeckers and many other birds.

This place is charming and we will spend a good time here enjoying its cozy panoramic view. Then we return to Atalaya. At this point we take a boat and it will take us to the next lodge across the Madre de Dios River downstream and we will be able to see more birds such as herons, macaws, toucans, kingfishers, etc.

Arriving at the lodgewe will have a brief rest and in the afternoon we go to the camouflaged house that is located next to a beautiful mammal clay lick to see the animals that come to eat the clay, such as: tapir, porcupine, deer, birds and other nocturnal rodents, with good luck we will be able to see felines such as the Jaguar or puma that sometimes come to hunt in this place.

and you will be able to enjoy the sound of the jungle at night, at dusk we will look for nocturnal wildlife such as: spiders, tarantulas , frogs, snakes, Caimans, night monkeys and more insects and then we return to dinner B.L.D.

 

DAY 3RD: ECOMANU LODGE – CUSCO

This day after our breakfast we return by boat to Atalaya and from there we take our car back to the hummingbird garden to appreciate different types of hummingbirds of all sizes and colors, and we also visit a place of refuge for wild animals.

And from this point we return in our private car to Cusco, ending the trip arriving in Cusco approximately 5pm. End of our Manu rain forest tour.
